YEEEEES!  It’s working!  Praise the Lord! Whoot! Yahoo!
OK, onto the point:  I have successfully produced a very short video clip from an HD SP mpeg2 video file into a final output of an mpeg2!  This may sound like “So what?”, so let me explain:
Using Rob Scott’s BunnyHopHop workflow I have used Blender 2.47 to do a minor edit to an HD SP mpeg2 file with proxies, exported an excerpt of the video to PNG, optimized an AVS script in AvsP, (find the AviSynth wiki here,) ran it in QuEnc to encode the video to mpeg2, and the final result was a compressed 720×480 video with a/v in sync!
See a screenshot:
Current video editing workflow: Blender, AvsP, QuEnc, and VLC Player
Praise the Lord!  This is a  big mile marker in my video editing journey!
Now I hope all my editing needs will be met by open source software and Blender, and that BlenderAVC [...]

McCain’s Campaign of lies-Palin No Iraq Visit?

McCain’s straight talk has become a toxic mix of lies and double-speak. It is leaving a permanent stain on his reputation for integrity, and it is a short-term strategy that eventually will backfire with the very types of independent-thinking voters that were so attracted to him.
John McCain released an ad this week making the accusation that Barack Obama supports sex education for five-year-olds. The ad says:
“Education Week says Obama ‘hasn’t made a significant mark on education,’ that he’s ‘elusive’ on accountability, a ’staunch defender of the existing public school monopoly.’
“Obama’s one accomplishment? Legislation to teach ‘comprehensive sex education’ to kindergartners. “Learning about sex before learning to read? Barack Obama. Wrong on education. Wrong for your family.”
The facts are: Obama said that he did not support telling youngsters about explicit information about sex. The bill specifically mentions that instructional material must be age appropriate. It specifically mentions teaching children how to [...]

YANGON (AFP) - Detained democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi will soon submit her first-ever personal appeal for release to Myanmar’s ruling junta, her lawyer told AFP Saturday.
Kyi Win said the Nobel Prize laureate had approved the final draft of a legal appeal to the country’s ruling junta for her release during a meeting Saturday afternoon at the lakeside Yangon house where she has been confined for most of the last 19 years.
“This is in fact one of the first appeals of this kind as far as I know,” the lawyer said.
“From my point of view we are hoping for her immediate release,” he said, adding the appeal would be submitted Monday or Tuesday.
The lawyer refused to comment on Suu Kyi’s health, after reports she was not accepting food.
The meeting was their fifth since August 8 and aside from a medical check-up by her personal physician last month, Aung San [...]

Kevin Smith has been hard at work on his new film about friends, being broke, and porno, starring  Seth Rogen and Elisabeth Banks. The film is pretty much completed, and was slapped around by the MPAA a little, regarding a select few scenes, and the movie’s original poster. The poster is now officially banned to be hung up in and around movie theatres across the United States, but good old Canada gladly snatched it up and accepted it.
In an awesome Kevin Smith sort of finesse, the American poster now looks like this:
Very funny. Am I wrong?
How cool is that?! I’m glad that this is actually the official poster of the film, because its not only original, but kind of spits in the MPAAs face a little. Come on. He has to retreat all the way back to using fucking stick figures? To all the MPAA members: SEX is the reason [...]

After beginning her first promotional tour for her new album ‘Dard-e-Sherlyn’ and charming fans at Kolkata , the ‘outrageous’ singer and actress Sherlyn Chopra enthralled her fans with another dazzling appearance at Dublin, the Irish Pub at the ITC Kakatiya Sheraton in Hyderabad this week.
The firebrand, who hails from this city and has even won the ‘Miss Andhra Pradesh’ beauty pageant in her college days, heavily promoted her two remixes of the “Dard-e-Sherlyn” title track by DJs Akbar Sami and Pramz, while donning her controversial trademark diamond-studded bikini top.
It can be recalled that her show organisers had panicked last week about the bold and flamboyant girl wearing this bikini top along with her golden hot pants that she has famously worn in the new superhit video of her remix album. Apart from expecting trouble from unruly crowds due to the skimpy attire, the organisers had felt it was very risky [...]

I am Rithisha Padmanabh from Bangalore. I am representing Karnataka, as the “Voice of Karnataka”, in a National Level Music Reality show called Amul Star Voice of India, which is aired on Star Plus every Friday and Saturday at 10 PM, and 11 AM in Sundays.
First of all, I would like to convey my heartfelt “THANK YOU” to everybody for supporting me in such a wonderful way. It is nearly impossible to go far in music shows like Star Voice of India without the public’s support. I am extremely grateful to all of you, especially Kannadigas, for showering your love and support on me, and taking me to the top 7 in Amul Star Voice of India.
From here, the competition gets even tougher. I have the responsibility of keeping the honor of my state, Karnataka, on my shoulders. Karnataka has always been one of [...]

YANGON (Reuters) - Detained Myanmar opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi has managed to wring small concessions from the ruling generals in the form of letters from her family and some international news magazines, her lawyer said on Friday.
The Nobel laureate, whose refusal of new food deliveries to the Yangon villa where she is under house arrest prompted speculation of a hunger strike, had also agreed to a visit by her doctor, lawyer Kyi Win told reporters.
“The authorities have agreed to let her receive family mail, read some international periodicals like Newsweek and Time and lift restrictions on the movement of her housekeeper, Khin Khin Win and daughter,” he said after visiting Suu Kyi. There was no word on whether the 63-year-old, who has been under continuous house arrest for the last five years, would get a new satellite television decoder to replace an existing one that is believed to [...]

I wouldn’t go out of my way to play a rhythm game. It’s just not the kind of game that I’d be interested in. I’m not a racing fan either. That said, this review’s got my attention. I’m really thinking about giving it a try. The score’s very impressive, so who knows, I might even like it.
